Our goal is to correct widespread misconceptions about crime rates and empower employers, residents, and visitors to make better informed decisions about where to live, work, invest and visit.
Some cities have only one jurisdiction while other cities are composed of multiple municipal jurisdictions (cities within cities).
Each jurisdiction reports it's own crime data and the media and 'most dangerous cities lists' often use one jurisdiction's data
to misrepresent an entire city.
Crime reports in the media often leave out 75% or more of a city’s population and area leading to grossly inaccurate
city to city comparisons.
Our communities, employers and visitors deserve more accurate and useful reporting.
By working with our marketing partners and within the existing incentive structures of the media and information systems, we are able maximize exposure and to help shape the public narrative.
With our strategic action plan, we open source our data and publish reports, articles and commentary within the legacy media, government agencies, social media, and data sources for AI and Google searches.
Our goal is to make greater crime data accessible to everyone shaping public conversation.
All Greater City Alliance reports are free to use under a Creative Commons Attribution license. Media outlets, journalists, and researchers may quote, republish, or embed our charts and findings as long as they credit “Greater City Alliance” and link back to the original report. Our goal is to make reliable crime data readily available to everyone who shapes public conversation.
Coming Soon
In conjunction with our strategic partners, GCA will conduct in-depth information pathway studies to identify the sources that have the greatest influence of our perception of cities and their safety.
By mapping how narratives spread and which platforms and voices shape public opinion for this specific issue, GCA and its strategic partners can reduce the perception‑reality gap and begin to shift the conversation.
Evolving Usage
People rely on AI assistants like ChatGPT to learn about cities, form opinions, and make decisions. Unfortunately, these models often repeat outdated or misleading information that’s been widely circulated online. We aim to proactively publish accurate, structured, and authoritative content to influence ai models.
Expected Impact
After launch, and within three months, retrieval‑grounded AI modes should cite our official pages. By the next major LLM release cycle, our data will be baked into the models’ core knowledge, permanently shifting the narrative toward accuracy.
Greater City Alliance (GCA) recognizes the seriousness of crime and the profound impact it has on victims and communities. Our reports and analysis are not intended to directly address immediate safety concerns or provide short-term solutions; we defer these vital roles to dedicated experts, law enforcement, and community support organizations. Instead, GCA's mission is to encourage long-term economic investment, job creation, and community empowerment. We believe these will ultimately contribute to lasting improvements in public safety and quality of life.
